Rockford boys basketball team gets hot, defeats Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern

Chad Carlson led Rockford with 16 points Saturday as the Rams rolled over Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern 57-44 in a OK Conference nondivisional boys basketball game in Grand Rapids.

Rockford was on fire from 3-point land, outscoring the Huskies 30-15, which included making five 3-pointers in a 21-9 third-quarter run.

"They were able to get loose and make some open shots," Northern coach Joe Soules said. "They got hot in the third quarter and we couldn't get over the hump."

Michael McLaughlin led the Huskies with 14 points.
